Our beachside holiday park is located in the heart of one of Scotlands most popular tourist destinations. Surrounded by rolling hills and sandy beaches, golf lovers can enjoy the many world class championship courses available within Ayrshire. The famous Westin Turnberry Resort and Hotel offers excellent spa and leisure facilities. Turnberry Holiday Park has a breathtaking view of the Ailsa Craig with its bird sanctuary. Girvan is the nearest sea side town with local tourist amenities and leisure centre. Culzean Castle is amongst many historic attractions along with Ayr just 20 minutes down the A77.
There is local trout and sea fishing facilities and the Turnberry Golf Course & Turnberry Hotel with its leisure facilities is 1 mile from the park. The ferry crossings to Larne and Belfast offer a chance to see Ireland from Dumfries and Cairnyan.
Facts about Turnberry and Ayrshire
Ayrshire is rich with Scottish history. The region was inhabited from earliest times, and many historic castles and tower-houses, some in ruins, some preserved, remain throughout the countryside.
The focal point is the golf course at Turnberry. The most famous landmark is the Aisla Craig. An island in the outer Firth of Clyde, Scotland where granite was quarried to make curling stones. The now uninhabited island is formed from the volcanic plug of an extinct volcano, which is now a bird sanctuary.
Turnberry is situated on the west coast of Scotland and therefore experiences the warming effect of the Atlantic gulf stream. On a good clear day the cliffs of Northern Island are visible from the beach.
