Turnberry Holiday Park highlights for 2017

2017 promises to be an incredible year at Turnberry Holiday Park – here are seven highlights we can’t wait to enjoy.

1/ March 25th will the first-chance to see our refurbished clubhouse, which will now boast stunning sea views across to Ailsa Craig.

2/ Ever wanted to know how you can take better holiday photos on your mobile phone? We’ll be launching our season-long picture competition at Easter, with expert tips on how to improve your smartphone snaps.

3/ The Scottish Grand National (22 April) at Ayr Racecourse is one of the highlights on the National Hunt season, when around 30 horses fight it out over four miles. If you have any tips, please let us know!

4/ For a day of traditional entertainment, head to the Carrick Lowland Gathering where you’ll find funfair rides, a pipeband competition, highland dancers, highland games, and a race up the imposing Saugh Hill.

5/ The Scottish Open (13-16 July) at Dundonald Links is one of the biggest events of golf’s European tour. The competition is given added prestige because it attracts some of the world’s best players who are honing their links game for The Open, which takes place the following week.

6/ Dazzling Ayr Flower Show (4-6 August) brings together spectacular competition entries in many different classes with specially-created miniature and themed gardens; speciality food and drinks; floral art and cookery demonstrations; and gardening Q&As hosted by a series of experts. The show is set in Rozelle Park, near to Burns’ Birthplace in Alloway.

7/ There’s no doubting which event beer drinkers are most looking forward to this year, Ayrshire’s Real Ale Festival (5-7 October) in Troon brings together more than 150 excellent ales from across the UK.
