The Galloway Forest Park has everything you could need for a great day out, whatever time of year. Meet the red deer and wild goats on your drive around the forest. Enjoy a picnic beside the beautiful loch, make a splash in the water or visit at night-time. See for yourself why this is one of the best places to star gaze in Europe.

The Galloway forest Park Red Deer Range

The red deer range was established to give visitors a chance to see the beautiful deer that roam the forest up close and personal whilst they enjoy their natural environment. There are around 60 red deer in the Galloway Forest Park– watch from the viewing area. Whatever the weather, enjoy some deer spotting from the shelter of the hide.

Forrest Estate Experiences

The forest estate is a purpose-built country sports activity centre, specialising in providing access and education for a wide range of country activities including clay pigeon shooting, rifle shooting and trout fishing. With friendly, expert tuition you’ll be confident in no time.

Galloway Activity Centre

Situated in a stunning location on the banks of the Lock Ken. The expert team of adventure instructors specialise in providing exciting and memorable holidays in a safe, friendly environment. Offering activities for families, groups and individuals. Choose from short taster sessions, full day activities and certified courses. With activities ranging from sailing, kayaking, wild swimming, wind surfing, power boat tuition and so much more! If you’re looking for an action-packed trip, you’ll find it at the Galloway Activity Centre.

Raiders’ Road Forest Drive

This drive is one of two in the Galloway Forest park. This drive is an easy way to see more of the parks woodland and wildlife without having to walk too far. The drive is 10 miles long, which is also open to walkers, cyclists and horse riders year-round. There are various places for a pit stop on Raiders road if you fancy a riverside picnic or some grassy banks to play in.

Loch Ken Water Ski School

In the heart of the Galloway hills, Loch Ken Water Ski School is a great destination for some action-packed fun. The picturesque setting plus the highly skilled team of professional instructors makes for the perfect spot to get active on the water. In addition to water skiing the school offers the chance to learn more advanced techniques such as mono skiing, banana boat rides and speed boat trips. There is also equipment and clothing available to hire.
